Trump Falsely Blames Dems For His Own Migrant Family Separation Policy

On Monday Michelle shared Former First Lady Laura Bush's Washington Post op-ed piece where she bashed Trump's zero tolerance policy as'cruel and'immoral

Trump blamed opposition Democratic lawmakers for the impasse over US immigration policies, even though Trump's Republican party controls both chambers in Congress, and the family border policies were set by his administration. Sometimes a parent is deemed abusive or a security risk, and other times an adult shows up trying to claim parentage of an unrelated child - sometimes the child was even abducted along the way so someone could pose as a family. The audio includes the sounds of a chorus of children sobbing and asking for their parents, some in what sounds like significant levels of distress. They call out "Daddy!" and "Mommy!" - in Spanish - repeatedly.

"The people of Germany are turning against their leadership as migration is rocking the already tenuous Berlin coalition".

The reality, however, is that Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced a "zero-tolerance" policy last month in which everyone who crossed the border illegally would be prosecuted criminally, thus resulting in children being taken from adults. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.).

Government statistics indicate that, so far, almost 2,000 children were separated from their families over a six-week period in April and May. More than 100 of those children are under the age of 4.

"We don't want what is happening with immigration in Europe to happen with us!" he said. "What we're missing is a conductor".

The child who stood out the most was the 6-year-old Salvadoran girl with a phone number stuck in her head. That person gave the audio to Jennifer Harbury, a well-known civil rights attorney who has lived and worked for four decades in the Rio Grande Valley along the Texas border with Mexico. She did not provide details about where exactly it was recorded.

"The test of any nation is how we treat the most vulnerable among us", Clinton said. "I'm not going to snitch out a whistleblower".

Representative Beto O'Rourke said he was working on legislation that would end the practice of family separation. She said gangs were everywhere in El Salvador: "They're on the buses".

Stephen Engelberg, the editor in chief of ProPublica, told The Post that publishing the tape was a "straightforward decision".

Nielsen could offer an authoritative voice on the matter, Trump and other top officials believed, and she underwent extensive preparation ahead of the briefing.

As the White House doubled down on Monday on its policy to separate families illegally crossing the border or who come to the United States seeking asylum, Republicans from across the party's ideological spectrum are warning that continuing the policy is a political nightmare waiting to happen for the GOP. Children are supposed to be transferred from the custody of the Border Patrol to centers run by the Department of Health and Human Services within 72 hours.

Since the recording was released on Monday afternoon, people have reacted in sheer horror, devastated by the conditions and emotional trauma these children are having to endure.
