The Next OnePlus Flagship Could Be Available at a US Carrier

It is yet to confirmed whether the Chinese manufacturer will be launching OnePlus 6T smartphone later this year. Yes we have all that other cool stuff 5G is good for, but most of that won't arrive for a while. It's likely that OnePlus will launch a second flagship smartphone later this year, but its the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7T phones coming next year that you should be really excited about. Pete said OnePlus wants to be one of the first smartphone companies to offer support for the next-generation wireless technology when it is rolled out in the US.

At Mobile World Congress Shanghai, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau talked about future plans for the company.

We don't know much else about the OnePlus 7 so far but based on past form it's likely to land sometime in mid-2019, so you've got a while to wait yet.

That would mean U.S. customers won't have to buy OnePlus handsets outright anymore and will also have more opportunity to try before they buy, though Lau didn't specify which carrier or carriers he's in talks with. If it's in discussion with Verizon and Sprint, which use CDMA networks, it could potentially reach millions more users. That's because at least one of them will come with 5G support. Time will tell if Three will mimic its 4G rollout and not charge extra for 5G.

OnePlus has, of late, increased its focus outside China. That's alongside LG, HTC, HMD, Oppo, Vivo, Sony, Asus, and more, who previously committed to releasing 5G devices of some kind in 2019.
