Reds youngster Rhian Brewster inks new five-year deal

Rhian Brewster

The club had signed West Ham's Reece Oxford last term giving the youngster valuable first-team playing time in Germany.

Borussia Monchengladbach appeared forerunners to sign the teenager, which prompted Liverpool to cancel a planned pre-season friendly with them.

Brewster is coming off of a knee injury that kept him out the second half of the season.

Promoting Brewster to the senior setup could allude to Klopp potentially settling with his striker options.

The Youngster won the golden boot with England U17s at the U17 World Cup in India, where a young England side took home the cup after a sensational Summer for England's youth sides. He secured both the Federation Internationale de Football Association U17 World Cup Golden Boot and Bronze Ball awards.

The Merseyside outfit have yet to replace Philippe Coutinho and the German manager is keen on an attacking midfielder who can score a lot of goals.

Liverpool have high hopes for Brewster in the future with Reds boss Jurgen Klopp a big admirer of the 18-year-old having promoted him to the first-team squad last season.

Whilst Suso would be far from a guaranteed starter for Klopp's side, his arrival at Anfield would certainly keep Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane on their toes, and that added competition would only be a good thing for the Reds in their quest to win their first league title since 1990.
