One dead as ferry carrying 80 people sinks in Indonesia

Disaster Mitigation Agency spokesman Sutopo Purwo Nugroho said the boat sank in bad weather

An estimated 18 people had been rescued and one passenger was confirmed dead after the ferry sank on Monday. According to emergency services, a late-night rescue mission saved at least 18 people and one found dead.

At least one person has died and dozens are missing after a boat carrying 80 people capsized on Monday in Indonesia, an official from the national disaster agency said.

"There are 65 people who say their relatives are missing".

"I was desperate, I was scared to death".
