Bullish Harry Kane says World Cup can be his first trophy

England kicked off their 2018 FIFA World Cup campaign with a dramatic late win as Harry Kane proved the difference against Tunisia on Monday night.

Kane now has 15 goals in 25 appearances for England.

Responding to a question from a local journalist regarding jokes on social media that the Russian teapot he was presented with in Repino represented his first trophy, Kane replied: "I've got a lot of scoring trophies in my career".

England would have been staring down the barrel if they had not managed to claim a vital three points against Tunisia in their World Cup opener, Gary Neville has claimed.

England play again next Sunday, this time against Panama, who lost 3-0 to Belgium in Monday's second game.

"We had to keep monitoring Dele", Southgate said.

Unmarked near the far post as a corner was delivered into the box during stoppage time, the Tottenham Hotspur striker waited patiently as Harry Maguire headed the ball his way to poke it home to seal the late 2-1 win for England. "Winning the first game is always massive". "I've seen couple and yeah they do make me look a bit chubby!"

Gareth Southgate's side appeared to be heading for a hugely frustrating 1-1 draw in Volgograd on Monday night before captain Harry Kane popped up in injury time to nod home his second of the night and, crucially, the victor.

"As of a [Richie] Smallwood for us, you can put in a destructive player like a [Jordan] Henderson or a [Eric] Dier in there to put out the fires and see what is happening". We've let ourselves down - I am part of the problem by the way for eight of the last nine tournaments. "I am really pleased and even if we had drawn the game I would have been really proud of the performance".
