Blood moon is coming

Украинцы смогут увидеть редкое лунное затмение

Scientists say that this July, earthlings will have the chance to watch the longest Lunar Eclipse of the 21st century, as it will last no less than 1 hour, 43 minutes. But the Moon will enter totality not long before setting in this country, on the morning of July 28.

On Jan 31 this year, a lunar eclipse, blue moon and a super moon occurred simultaneously. According to these Christian ministers, the tetrad of the blood moon phenomenon marks the occurrence of the four consecutive lunar eclipse.

Recent red skies are apparently down to the specific scattering of light particles through the atmosphere.

There have been some spectacular lunar and solar eclipses over the past few years, and next month brings another show for stargazers to check out. Though the eclipse will be experienced for about one hour and forty-three minutes, researchers said.

New Zealand does see the earlier stages of the eclipse, with the Moon entering the penumbra - or light shadow - at 5.14am and the umbra - dark shadow - at 6.24am.

If you're reading this you've probably seen a lunar eclipse before, but as amateur and professional astronomers know, it's not a "seen one, seen 'em all" situation.

Okay, but even if the end were nigh, the eclipse aspect of this event will only be seen from the eastern hemisphere; I'm not really sure how omens work, but seems like we're safe this time. Dates of 27 and 28 July are earmarked to experience the event. Since Earth is placed right in front of the moon, the sunlight first has to pass next to our planet.

If you miss this eclipse, the next one will happen next year, on January 21st.

Now, the theory has picked up the pace again with conspiracy theorists saying that the Blood Moon will wipe out things from Earth. This means it will be opposite the Sun in Earth's sky, just 51 days before it passes through perihelion, which is its closest point relative to the Sun in its orbit. On 31 July the Red Planet will be only 35.8-M miles away from Earth, making it clearly visible to the naked eye.
