Banksy print stolen from Toronto's west end

Toronto police said it is investigating the theft of the print, made famous British artist of street art, Banksy (Banksy), from the buildings on the West side of the city.

Toronto police now say the Banksy artwork that was reported stolen is a $45,000 piece called Trolley Hunters.

"It's a attractive piece and we hope to get it back", said Ross, adding that he would not comment further during the police investigation.

Authorities asked for help in the investigation on Thursday, and released security footage of a man walking into the exhibition space shortly after 05:00am local time (09:00 GMT), perusing the site, picking up a print, and quickly leaving with it.

Lazarides has billed "The Art of Banksy" as the largest collection of the United Kingdom artist's work ever put on display, containing about $35 million worth of art.

Mr Lazarides worked with the Bristol graffiti artist for about 10 years, though Banksy himself is not involved in the show.

Held in a former ammunitions factory, the show includes some of Banksy's best-known work such as Girl with Balloon and the sizeable Flag Wall, a riff on the raising of the flag by U.S. troops at Iwo Jima.

Said to be a critique on corporate food production, the work is valued at around £26,000.

"To be honest this isn't a Banksy exhibition, it is an exhibition of Banksy's art and I think there's a big difference between the two", he said.
