Anthony Bourdain, Revered Chef & Storyteller, Has Died

US chef Anthony Bourdain has died, aged 61

"I looked at him in the eyes and said, this is something we will always be thankful for, Tony".

Bourdain was officially blacklisted by Azerbaijan after filming the show in Artsakh.

The beloved food documentarian was found unresponsive in his Kaysersberg, France hotel room the morning of June 8.

The circumstances of Bourdain's death has led authorities "to suspect that not much preparation and premeditation went into the act, and leads us more in the direction of an impulsive act", the prosecutor said.

Cinematographer Zach Zamboni, who worked with Bourdain on his food and travel shows "No Reservations" and "Parts Unknown", has a home in Portland and grew up in Milo. While it was revealed that the renowned TV host hung himself to death, new details have emerged redarding the death scene.

"It is with extraordinary sadness we can confirm the death of our friend and colleague, Anthony Bourdain", the network said in a statement today. "I am honoured to know someone who has the strength and fearlessness to do something like that".

"Bourdain's exceptional writing made this one formerly picky, fearful eater very courageous and want to try everything and I'll always be grateful for him and the worlds he opened", tweeted Lin-Manuel Miranda.

"Anthony gave all of himself in everything that he did", she wrote.

Anthony's intelligence and honesty is what had made him good at his job, Peele wrote, praising chef Bourdain for managing to stay on track, while still drinking occasionally, which is something most former drug addicts find hard to achieve without slipping back into their old habits. He had written that his love of food began as a youth while on a family vacation in France, when he ate his first oyster. "He was that friend we watched and we journeyed with to parts unknown". As his girlfriend Asia Argento said in a statement released on Twitter, "His brilliant, fearless spirit touched and inspired so many". He was my love, my rock, my protector. My thoughts are with his family. I think we're both relieved by the fact that we both respect each other's work. "I suggested the Culinary Institute and that's how it all started". His death came just three days after fashion icon Kate Spade's death which was also by suicide.

If you or someone you know is experiencing thoughts of suicide, please tell someone or call the suicide prevention hotline 1-800-273-TALK (8255) or 1-888-568-1112 in Maine.
