Yeshiva U women's tennis team becomes school's first female program to make NCAA tournament

"If we want to get though tomorrow, we are going to have to play better defense than we've had all season", Wright said.

"Obviously we've proved that we deserve to be at home", women's coach Roland Thornqvist said.

Touliatos and doubles partner Luis Valero, a senior, came up with enough big shots late in the season to surge all the way to All-American status as one the nation's top eight doubles tandems after they began playing together in February.

The Cowgirls advanced past UMKC to face in-state rival Tulsa in the second round of the NCAA Regional.

On Courts 2 and 3, FSU's Guy Iradukunda and Lucas Poullain beat the Hornets' Tomas Fernandez and Alexis Collard by identical 6-0, 6-2 scores.

Florida State jumped out of the gates with doubles wins on courts one and two. "We're trying to stay focused and play with high energy and confidence".

We feel very fortunate to be here, so every time we have a lot of pride in representing Oklahoma State tennis, the Greenwoods and everybody who contributed to this facility".

Singles: 1. No. 20 Vladica Babic (OSU) def. Aliona Ladutska 6-2, 6-1; 2. "That's really a neat way, especially for the first class of seniors to complete their career".

Grace Ball was UMKC's lone victor - on court six.

Western Michigan is led by Maik Steiner, who is 17-5 at No. 1 singles, while Jannik Opitz is 19-4, Lenhard Haupt is 18-5 and Matej Svjetlicic is 23-2.

Shortly after Stresnakova's win, Babic clinched the match.

Vasilyuk outlasted Vera Ploner in the No. 5 position, 7-6 (7-2), 6-4. The two will square off at Noon today for the right to advance to the round of sixteen in Winston, Salem, North Carolina.
