Blizzard has announced that next week will see the advent of the annual Overwatch Anniversary Celebration, commemorating two years since the game first launched. Additionally, all previously released loot boxes for seasonal events are included for the anniversary event.

For the game's second year, the anniversary event will introduce over 50 new cosmetic items to the store along with the new map that's called Petra.

Finally, a new version of Overwatch will be out on May 22nd.

In addition to the new map and all the cosmetic fun, last year's Anniversary event is coming back with all the seasonal cosmetics from last time around, including dance emotes, seasonal brawls for the Arcade with daily rotations and more, including what was playable in the Overwatch: Archives.

However, it isn't yet known whether these items will be available to buy or if you'll have to be lucky with loot boxes. Titled the Legendary Edition, it'll come with the base game, of course, as well as 15 extra skins, all which will be a variety of Legendary, Epic, and Origin skins. This sounds like a full-featured mode, as it includes placement matches, skill rating division, and leaderboards to track progress.

No pricing details have been revealed for the new pirate Junkrat skin but it's a safe bet that it will probably be a legendary, as is the case with most event skins. There's also a ton of funky fresh new dance emotes for Doomfist, Moira, and Brigitte on offer. Logging in to the Anniversary event will also grant one Legendary Anniversary Loot Box, containing a single guaranteed Legendary item.
