Brave Katia Sastre - an off-duty police officer - reacted impeccably when the 21-year-old gunman walked up to a group of mothers and their youngsters and threatened them with a.38 revolver.

Officer Sastre was honoured in a ceremony by Sao Paulo Governor Márcio França on Sunday despite the "regrettable outcome" and is being hailed a hero for her act of bravery, reports the MailOnline.
