Joe Hart Won't Be Part Of England's 23 Man World Cup Squad

Gareth Southgate

West Ham United goalkeeper Joe Hart has been told that he will not be part of the England squad heading to the World Cup in Russian Federation this summer.

And he had been tipped to head to Russian Federation with England next month ahead of their opening World Cup fixture against Tunisia in Volgograd on June 18. Wilshere has missed out after being called up for the friendlies against Italy and the Netherlands in March only to withdraw because of injury.

Hart has endured a miserable campaign in the Premier League.

The Three Lions coach has preferred Manchester City's player, Fabian Delph who was impressive this season.

Months of speculation, scrutiny and intrigue come to a head on Wednesday afternoon, when the 23 men charged with taking on the world's best this summer are revealed.

The 28-year-old has been more naturally a central midfielder and brings versatility to Southgate's squad. His club-mate, James Tarkowski, is on the stand-by list, with Southgate able to call on John Stones, Harry Maguire, Phil Jones, Kyle Walker or Eric Dier at centre-half if required. Delph's inclusion follows a season in which he has been successfully remodelled as a left-back at City by Pep Guardiola. We have seen a few countries, for instance, the five-time champions, Brazil, who have already named their squads.

Despite the 75-cap goalkeeper's struggles for form and game-time, Southgate spoke glowingly about his professionalism and leadership when third-fiddle to Jordan Pickford and Jack Butland in March's worldwide meet-up.

'What is Gareth Southgate going to learn about him?
