The Bohemian Rhapsody trailer for the upcoming Queen biopic just dropped (below) and it looks bloody wonderful. Malek, who became a star thanks to the breakout success of Mr. Robot in 2015, was cast last July, and the project was finally put on the fast track, with director Bryan Singer at the helm.
The flamboyant, barrier-breaking singer is a tough act to follow, but the trailer certainly packs a punch. From arguments about Mercury's decision to include an "operatic section" on Queen's 1975 smash "Bohemian Rhapsody" to sold-out shows in front of packed stadiums, the teaser shows how the band fought to survive as Mercury seemed to spiral out of control. Get backstage sneak peeks and a true view into our world as the fun and games unfold. From the rock star hair to the stage presence to the voice to the smile, Malek's take on Mercury appears to be right on pitch. We also get a brief glimpse at a almost unrecognizable Mike Myers as a bewigged record executive of sorts, who warns Mercury that "Bohemian Rhapsody" is too long. There's a new trailer for the Queen biopic and it looks like a real treat. One would have thought they might have used the song 'Bohemian Rhapsody' itself, however, 'We Will Rock You, ' works perfectly.
More news: Scientists successfully transfer memory from one snail to anotherThe footage carries on to highlight Malek's Mercury, proving that the actor best known for his role as monotone computer hacker Elliot Alderson in Mr. Robot embodies the larger-than-life singer-songwriter easily. The movie was put back in the spotlight after director Bryan Singer was sacked in the midst of production by 20th Century Fox last December. They're'represented on screen too, with Ben Hardy, Joseph Mazzello and Gwilym Lee as Taylor, John Deacon and May respectively.
Bohemian Rhapsody will be released next year on November 2, 2018 from Twentieth Century Fox/New Regency Productions.
