Crystal Palace have no intention of selling Wilfried Zaha, insists Roy Hodgson

Wilfried Zaha

The hosts finally got the goal they deserved on 70 minutes with the lively Zaha converting Patrick van Aanholt's cross from the left for his ninth goal of the season.

And his form has led to Pep Guardiola favouring a move for him over Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez, the Mirror claims, with City set to move for the Ivory Coast worldwide.

This final outing, though, was all about Hodgson and regular match-winner Zaha, who broke the deadlock in the 70th minute from a Van Aanholt assist, the Netherlands worldwide doubling the advantage eight minutes later.

Palace appeared the more likely to find an early way through and might have done so had James McArthur opted to shoot inside the box rather than squaring for an off-balance Zaha, whose mishit finish was met by Ben Foster's outstretched boot.

"I would be very unhappy to see the day he leaves the club, I hope he will be here long after I am".

Roy Hodgson

Palace returned after half-time with renewed intent, when Loftus-Cheek and Van Aanholt began to impressively combine.

Zaha's commitment is exactly what Hodgson wanted to hear as he set out his plans for Palace to build on this season's progress.

Crystal Palace's performances in the league have been brilliant since Roy Hodgson took over at the helm.

Moore has picked up 11 points in his five games in charge, not yet tasting defeat and doubling the club's win tally for the season.

Zaha has been the club's standout player in a campaign that looked doomed after four games when Dutch boss Frank De Boer was sacked having lost every match.

West Brom caretaker-manager, Moore, says he will hold talks with the club's board over his future next week, after the Baggies' great form over the last month.
