Black American bishop will give the address at royal wedding

Queen Elizabeth II Watched By Diana's Brother Charles Earl Spencer His Sisters Lady Sarah Mccorquodale And Lady Jane Fellowes And His Wife Caroline Co

Michael Bruce Curry, the 27th Presiding Bishop and Primate of The Episcopal Church is to give the address at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding. Curry has followed in his fathers activist footsteps.

Prince Harry and Markle have yet to meet the high-energy, evangelical preacher, who has been credited with shaking up the face of Episcopalianism, the US-based branch of the global Anglican communion.

As the Washington Post reports, the archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, opposed the idea of gay marriage and in 2015 said that supporting marriage equality "will cause distress for some and have ramifications for the Anglican Communion as a whole, as well as for its ecumenical and interfaith resolutions".

Curry spoke in defense of same-sex marriage. "And this conjures that up again, and brings pain".

Meanwhile, representatives at Buckingham Palace have shared the first images of Queen Elizabeth II's Instrument of Consent, required by law to formally grant her "dearly beloved grandson" Prince Harry permission to Wednesday former actress Markle.

In the sermon, Curry, who was then the bishop of North Carolina, quoted several versions of the Bible characterizing Jesus as someone who was thought to be out of his mind.

Kensington Palace announced that the Reverend Michael Curry will deliver a sermon. Many in the United Kingdom see Markle, a biracial American actress, as an opportunity for the royal family to better reflect modern Britain.

The Instrument of Consent will be presented to the couple after becoming husband and wife.

Harry's brother, Prince William, will serve as best man.

Markle has taken steps to win over the Britons, appearing with Harry at numerous events.
