Wicked People 'Kept Nigerians Poor', Says Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday met with All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in London.

He said the president had overcome most of the challenges he met, especially in the areas of agriculture revolution, ease of doing business, anti-corruption war, employment of youths through the N-Power programme, and the blockage of leakages in the public sector through the Treasury Single Account (TSA), among others.

"I wonder how all those things could have happened to our country", he decried in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina.

The PDP demanded that the National Assembly should save the nation from an imminent constitutional crisis by immediately commencing processes to address the "current power vacuum in the country, following President Muhammadu Buhari's decision to embark on a private trip overseas without officially transmitting power to the Vice President".

"Nigerians deserve a return to the administration of a political party that is repositioned to be responsible, accountable, transparent and respect the views and feeling of the people and not this arrogant, disdainful and grossly incompetent Buhari-led APC administration, which has brought so much pain to our dear nation", the party stated.

It expressed worries that in the event of any national emergency, there is no sitting commander-in-chief to take charge.

President Buhari further assured them that their confidence in the Federal Government would not be abused, as his administration would do its best to justify it.

The President is also billed to hold discussions on Nigeria - British relations with Prime Minister Theresa May before the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) scheduled for Wednesday till Friday.

Ogba said Buhari's fate would be determined by Nigerians who suffered untold hardship as a result of the polices of his administration.

"If in the course of investigations, it (Presidency) discovered that the insurgents were from outside Nigeria, why is the government reportedly paying ransoms to them and even considering amnesty options?"

President Buhari had on April 9, 2018, during the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) declared his intention to seek re-election in 2019. "After his declaration, would it be wrong for anybody to state that the President had admitted that our nation is now under the mercy of external vandals and that his administration does not have the competence to defend our territorial integrity?"

"Many of us who supported him actually supported his incorruptible and disciplined personality".
