U.S. envoy to UN Nikki Haley says new sanctions coming on Russian Federation

US To Announce New Economic Sanctions On Russia

On the "Fox News Sunday" program, Haley again slammed Russian Federation, accusing it of enabling the Syrian government to use chemical weapons without worrying about blowback at the United Nations.

"More bombings and the continued presence of 2,000 US troops in northeast Syria. would undoubtedly prolong the war and the suffering of Syria's people", Glass told USA TODAY. "I think everyone knows that we sent a strong message, and our hope is that they listen to us", she said.

In a separate interview, Haley told CBS News that new sanctions against Russian Federation, which has forces in Syria supporting the Assad regime, would be announced Monday that would "go directly to any sort of companies that were dealing with equipment related to Assad and chemical weapons use".

Haley lashed out at Russian Federation during a fiery meeting of the UN Security Council on Friday, promising the United States was ready for another strike if Assad crossed the chemical weapons "red line" in the future.

"We are going to watch out for the best interests of the American people", she said. The operation targeted three Syrian chemical weapons facilities - one in the capital of Damascus and two others near Homs, near the border with northern Lebanon.

French President Emmanuel Macron said he had persuaded Trump to commit long-term to Syria.

Several White House spokespeople did not respond to requests for comment from the Daily News.

Macron - in response to critical questions about the legality of the mission - insisted that it was a matter of "international legitimacy" if not worldwide legality.

Haley has been one of the strongest voices accusing Russian Federation of enabling the Syrian government in its use of chemical weapons in the civil war that is now in its seventh year.

On "Fox News Sunday", Haley again slammed Russian Federation, accusing it of enabling the Syrian government to use chemical weapons without worrying about blowback from the United Nations. "We can't allow even the smallest use of chemical weapons".

The U.S., France and the United Kingdom launched military strikes Friday night on what the Pentagon said were three Syrian chlorine and sarin gas research facilities, in response to a suspected chemical attack by Syrian President Bashar Assad.

Assad, Putin, Rouhani and Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah have accused the West of using the strikes to sabotage an worldwide inquiry into the chemical weapons claims.

"It's not moving near as fast as any of us want it to move, but this is a political process that needs to happen", she said. "And should he use it again, the president has made it very clear that the United States is locked and loaded and ready to go".
