Nick Cannon proud of Mariah Carey

Mariah revealed that her bipolar II diagnosis, dated back to 2001, during a self-admitted stay in the hospital where she received treatment for a breakdown that initially was claimed to be caused by stress.

Mariah Carey's former manager Stella Stolper is suing the "Infinity" singer and claims Carey violated "the U.S. Civil Rights Act, a Violation of the Fair Employment and Housing Act" and breached an existing contract. Bipolar is a mental health condition that causes extreme emotional highs and lows, affecting mood, sleep habits and energy.

Carey revealed she is now in therapy and taking medication for bipolar disorder II, which is characterized by swings from very "up", elated moods to "down" periods of hopelessness and depression.

Mariah Carey said that for years she didn't want to believe her diagnosis, but now the superstar singer is proud to share. "Mariah Carey and Stella Bulochnikov remain partners in a number of business ventures, and will continue to support each other in those endeavors". It is characterized by depressive and hypomanic episodes lasting from days to months. "It can be incredibly isolating".
