LG Confirms to Launch LG G7 ThinQ on 2nd May

This is the official LG G7 ThinQ, in all its top notch toting glory

Presuming this is the official render of the LG G7 ThinQ, then it looks like we're in for a nice wide selection of colour options from the outset. This could help the phone take pictures in low-light settings. This is the second smartphone from LG to come with the ThinQ branding.

The LG G7 ThinQ is said to use "superpixel" technology, which combines multiple pixels to create a larger superpixel. For example, the rear camera setup will include one 16-megapixel "standard" camera with a glass lens, f/1.6 aperture and 10-bit HDR compatibility - for greater color capturing. The camera system will be capable of shooting HDR10 videos, that can be viewed back on the G7 ThinQ's HDR10 display.

The G7 Thinq will be successor of LG G6 which was launched at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017.

Saying that you have a new team dedicated to software updates and a center for them to work together is one thing; actually delivering those updates is another hurdle entirely, and the only thing people actually care about.

LG has also regularly faced scrutiny over issues of software reliability over time, picking up a reputation for selling phones that bootloop and fail at a higher-than-normal rate. Some of these features were announced along with the V30S ThinQ and the V35 ThinQ hence represents a direct improvement on those functionalities.

Finally, on the subject of voice commands, the G7 ThinQ will have Google Assistant built-in, and will have 32 exclusive, device-specific commands. Its latest step in the quest for faster updates takes the form of a new Software Upgrade Center at its R&D campus in Seoul, South Korea.

The leaked documents therefore reveal much of the main features of LG's upcoming flagship. Moreover, it will come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset.
