Jays-Royals may be postponed due to ice

Falling ice forces closure of CN Tower, Toronto Blue Jays game in jeopardy

Toronto's CN Tower has closed amid reports of falling ice with thousands of sports fans descending upon the city for Toronto Leafs and Blue Jays games scheduled for Monday evening.

This marks the third straight postponement for the Blue Jays, who also had games against the Indians postponed Saturday and Sunday because of inclement weather in Cleveland. Authorities say no injuries have been reported, but several windows in nearby office buildings were smashed and at least one vehicle was struck.

Yes, the Rogers Centre roof had ice fall on it from the CN Tower, which, as any Google image search reveals, is located right there at the stadium.

A Kansas City sportswriter considers it karma that Monday night's game between the Toronto Blue Jays and visiting Royals was postponed after nasty weather damaged the roof at Rogers Centre.

The Blue Jays had crews trying to fix the hole.

Not even the Toronto Blue Jays and their domed stadium are immune to a severe mid-April storm that led to a rash of postponed games across Major League Baseball over the last couple days.

The two teams will play a traditional doubleheader Tuesday with the first game starting at 3:07 pm. Although played at SkyDome, it was a makeup for a May 7 game rained out at Exhibition Stadium. Tom Henke got both saves. The game was made up later in the month.
