Google Is Listening: Tech Giant Will Soon be Able to Single Out Voices from a Crowd

The announcement confirmed the Gmail web version will get a "fresh, clean" look and "Smart" replies, which are now only available in the Gmail mobile app. There are a number of technologies it could use the new AI feature in, like video chats like Hangouts or Duo. The update is also expected introduce smart reply, and easy ways to access G-Suite apps from within Gmail.

What is also unclear at this point is whether the feature will work with other email accounts or only for emails sent to other Gmail users.

Moreover, Gmail will also allow you to set a deadline for certain emails, which, when reached, will trigger the automatic complete deletion of the chosen emails.

Rumors are flying that Google is on the edge of releasing a major update to the web version of Gmail - one of Google's most widely used products, boasting at least a billion users.

The California-based company could also showcase updates to Google Chrome, Google Photos, Android Wear, Google Home, and more. It further states that the recipient won't be able to forward, download or copy the email's contents, and attachments will be disabled. Before sending an email, users will be able to specify a time frame post which, the email will be deleted from the recipient's inbox.

Google says the Gmail redesign, which will include a new web interface design, new features and offline support, is scheduled to launch in coming weeks. This is because Google is now asking users to confirm their Google account to view the confidential email. The compact view is the most similar to the existing Gmail design, allowing existing users to keep a similar layout. TechCrunch's report notes that a confidential message doesn't have to be encrypted, which means that it's likely that Google can still see the content of the email. However, when it expires the email will disappear from the inbox.
