Ex-Trump campaign employee sues President to void nondisclosure agreement

A woman who worked for the 2016 Trump campaign is suing to get out of a non-disclosure agreement that she says prevents her from pursuing discrimination claims.

Jessica Denson, who says she joined the campaign in August 2016 and was later promoted to manage Hispanic outreach, filed a lawsuit against the campaign previous year, claiming she was the victim of discrimination and harassment by other campaign officials.

This differs from the other two lawsuits, filed by porn star Stormy Daniels and by former Playboy model Karen McDougal, in that Denson's document does not appear to be a hush money agreement or one related to a sexual relationship with Donald Trump. Denson alleges that a superior on the campaign team harassed her, but says that an earlier lawsuit filed in NY state court was impeded by a demand to uphold the confidentiality deal. Denson is representing herself in both the original lawsuit and the lawsuit to invalidate the NDA.

The nondisclosure agreement Denson signed required her not to talk about the President, his family, personal life or his companies, the suit says.

This is the third case involving a woman who accuses Trump and his people of trying to keep them quiet.

But according to Denson, the agreement is unenforceable because it's broad and it violates public policy. She claims the campaign is using the agreement to thwart her case and asked a judge to nullify it in a March 26 filing.

The Trump campaign sought to move the lawsuit to arbitration on December 20 because the case is in breach of the non-disclosure agreement, Denson said. Bloomberg News first reported the lawsuit on Monday. The campaign doesn't have a lawyer listed yet in the new federal court case, and Rosen and a campaign spokesperson did not immediately return a request for comment.

Denson claims she was harassed and discriminated against by a superior after she was promoted to head the campaign's Hispanic outreach, according to another suit in November.
