Beyoncé Makes History As First Black Woman To Headline Coachella

Beyonce thanked the Coachella for booking her to perform and said, "Thank you for allowing me to be the first black woman to headline Coachella". The trio of women released several hits including "Survivor", "Independent Women", and "Bootylicious".

They stunned the spectators with their electrifying performance.

For almost two hours, Beyoncé revealed surprise after surprise. Her former group performed some of their most popular songs, including "Say My Name", "Lose My Breath", and "Soldier".

On Saturday night, following a few epic solo performances, the singer switched into a camo bodysuit and reemerged onstage with Williams and Rowland as Destiny's Child. She ran through two decades of her hits while ascending a pyramid of bleachers, employed color guard dancers and baton twirlers who moved in precision to every note, and even had a pseudo-college step show reminiscent of a historically black fraternity performance.

She also owned social media as fans, including fellow famous ones, praised her set. She was slated to headline the California festival past year, but had to cancel after her doctor recommended she limit activity during the end of her pregnancy with twins Rumi and Sir Carter. To be more generous to Bey, though, the Coachella photo policy is a natural extension of her well-known desire for creative control: No low-angle fan video can really replicate professional footage, especially at a show designed and rehearsed for the livestream cameras as much as for the live audience.
