Vikings have reached out to Drew Brees' agent

Forget Kirk Cousins Broncos need to go after Drew Brees

Momentum for a reunion between the Saints and TE Jimmy Graham is building, NFL Media's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo tweeted Monday morning, roughly a half-hour after teams and agents could officially start negotiating. "My greatest drive as a player was not to let you down".

Strief, 34, was selected by the Saints in the seventh round of the 2006 NFL Draft.

In 2017, Brees led the Saints to an 11-5 record, throwing for 4,334 yards, 23 touchdowns and eight interceptions.

Strief's retirement wasn't a surprise, since he tore his ACL and MCL a year ago - and because he has repeatedly expressed his confidence (and relief) that first-round draft pick Ryan Ramczyk is ready to take over his job.

"Drew Brees has been the single greatest motivation for me as a player", Strief said. "So this is all Ryan Ramczyk's fault".

"Congratulations to Zach Strief on being arguably probably one of the best players I've had a chance to coach, one of the best teammates and someone our whole organization and fanbase can be proud of", Payton said in a statement, via the team's website.

Graham, 31, enters Year Nine and would be an upgrade over Coby Fleener, who has disappointed since signing a five-year, $36 million deal to replace Graham, on the NFL's No. 1 passing offense.

That deal included one of the top salaries in the National Football League (one new year at $24.25 million). "He became an expert at that position".

In his career, Brees has thrown for more than 70,000 yards and almost 500 touchdowns. But New Orleans's window to retain Brees is shrinking by the minute with apparently a lot of work to be done.

Quarterback Drew Brees is a New Orleans institution as the face of the Saints, but other teams have reportedly inquired about his availability. "So it's very hard not to become attached to that".
