The Huskies routed the Red Flash 140-52 in the first round on Saturday, setting several NCAA records in the process.

The 88-point win is the second largest in history in either the men's or women's tournament.

At press time, the Huskies were well on their way to passing the all-time single-game scoring record for women's Division I hoops. The previous NCAA records were held by Central Michigan for a quarter (45 in 2015) and Long Beach State for a half (80 points in 1987). They were one point behind Baylor's 89-point win over Texas Southern a year ago.

Cierra Dillard scored a career-high 36 points and Buffalo got its first women's NCAA Tournament victory as it defeated South Florida, 102-79. "The pace of the game was unlike anything that you would expect in a tournament game like this". Alabama set the original record in 1995 with 121 points in four overtimes.

Buffalo, which is making its second NCAA appearance, trailed 29-18 midway through the second quarter but went on a 20-7 run the remainder of the quarter to take a 43-38 lead at halftime.

There was more than one record set in the game.

The Huskies will take on the victor of Quinnipiac versus Miami in the second round of the NCAA tournament at Gampel Pavilion on Monday. St. Francis shot 57 three-pointers and made only 10. That's not "19.4" points.

STANFORD, Calif. - China Dow scored 21 points and played stingy defense in the paint against Missouri star Sophie Cunningham, and Florida Gulf Coast pulled off an upset in the Lexington Regional.
