Philips Hue outdoor connected lighting hits US, Europe this July

Light up your home's exterior - from the front door to the backyard - with the new Philips Hue outdoor line of products

Philips Hue, the smart lighting system that can be set to any of millions of colors and be controlled with your voice and smartphone, is expanding to include outdoor lighting options. There's also the Hue Calla, which seems to function as lighting that's more general objective.

Security features make even more sense in an outdoor environment too - lighting is a known deterrent against burglaries, with Hue's Home & Away function letting you set up a timed lighting routine to give the impression of your presence even when you're absent from a property.

Next up, and pictured below, is the Philips Hue Calla (640 lumens, like the Lily), which is a path lighting option that will cost $129.99. The bulbs will be available in multi-color or white and will ship in July. Both of these lights comprise the Hue white and color ambiance outdoor range, so they'll be able to transition between 16 million different colors to fit a mood or theme.

This new outdoor range of lights will be available beginning in July in both the USA and Europe. The Calla (pictured above) is ideal for path lighting, while the Lily (pictured below), can be used to highlight the key design features in your garden.

The Philips Hue white range offers a number of products matching the decor of your house. The Hue white and color ambiance range is based on a plug and play system, making installation easy and allowing for full flexibility to position wherever you need light.

You can get the bulbs starting in July throughout the United States and Europe.

Meanwhile, the Lily spotlight will retail for $279/€299, and the Calla bollard will go on sale for $139/€139. The Calla bollard will retail for Dollars 129.99 / Euro 139.99 as base unit pack. Philip's Lucca, Tuar, Turaco, and Ludere lights will start at $49.99 and will only be available in the United States (at least at first). United States only: the PAR38 lamp will retail for Dollars 29.99 for a single pack and double pack for Dollars 49.99.
