New kick-off times and substitute rule for UEFA games

An additional substitute will be permitted in extra-time

And Arsenal can not select Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the Europa League because previous club Borussia Dortmund switched to the same competition's knockout rounds after he played in the Champions League.

Among the other changes to take place, clubs will be permitted a fourth substitution should they enter extra time in knockout matches.

UEFA announces that clubs will be allowed to make a fourth substitution during next season's Champions League.

There will also be an extra substitute allowed in knockout matches that extend into extra-time.

The governing body says this is to give "coaches more flexibility regarding substitutes, and facilitate their squad management for the most important fixture of the season".

Champions League play-offs, group-stage games and knock-out matches will now kick off at 2000, Irish time, but in the group stages, two of the games on Tuesday and Wednesday will start at 1755, apart from on the last matchday, when they will be played simultaneously.

Under the current ruling Philipe Coutinho has been stopped from appearing in the competition for Barcelona following his January move from Liverpool, but from the 2018/19 season onwards players who transfer between two Champions Leagues clubs will have no such restrictions.

Games will now kick-off at 17:55 and 20:00, rather than the traditional time of 19:45. The Super Cup will also kick off at 2000.

This already applies to the 2018 UEFA Super Cup which will be played on 15 August at Tallinn's Lilleküla Stadium in Estonia.

These can include one player who has represented a different club in the Europa League group stages but none who have been fielded for another club in the Champions League group stage.
