Klopp feeling 'massively rubbish' about Liverpool mistakes

Man Utd possible XI

Two first half goals in nearly identical fashion from Marcus Rashford ultimately inflicted defeat on Klopp's side at Old Trafford, despite a spirited second half performance.

"It was the best piece of football in the entire game; a little one-two and then completely free in the box. We were worth the win", United manager Jose Mourinho said. "That's how it is", he said.

He told Liverpool's official website: "It's really hard to take".

"In the situations around the two goals, it was not like it should be - you can not leave a player alone", assessed Klopp. The mistakes were obvious - around the second balls we were not there and we can not leave Dejan alone in the challenge there and nobody's around for the second ball. You have to do what you have to do.

"You have to give the guy some credit for getting footballers to sing from his hymn sheet, with the structure he puts into a team making it tough to break them down and he tends to have a couple of creative players who can make the most of a chance when it comes their way. That was our mistake, it was nothing to do with the system".

Klopp's side are next in action at home against Watford next Saturday.

The Reds headed to Old Trafford in confident mood and perched just two points behind their old adversaries in the Premier League table.

"We won't stop", he added.

"It is all about the result and we lost". I think they all play against each other, Man United doesn't look like they'll win all their games 5-0, so maybe they lose a game.

"They try to win matches in an honest way, by outpassing and outscoring opponents and what we saw yesterday was a team winning via an alternative route". We are under pressure when they are five points clear or two points behind - we are constantly under pressure, that's our life. I hope the game is open, and we enjoy the game, but it will not be easy'.
