The 25-year-old marked himself as the sixth-youngest player to reach a century of goals, and it was another Inter man, Giuseppe Meazza, who shone during the 1930s, who is now the youngest to reach the milestone in Serie A; aged 23 years and 32 days. Icardi now has 103 goals in Serie A - 93 with Inter and ten with Sampdoria.

Ivan Perisic opened the scoring with a looping header in the 26th minute before Icardi, playing against his former club, did the rest. "Today we needed to be like Napoli and we had the right approach from the first minute and the result shows that".

AC Milan extended their unbeaten league run to ten games with a come-from-behind 3-2 win over Chievo in the San Siro to consolidate sixth position five points off the Champions League spots.

Rising star Patrick Cutrone - who has just earned his first senior call-up for Italy - hit Milan's second when he finished off a rebound on 54 minutes with Portuguese Andre Silva again scoring the victor after Genoa last week eight minutes from time.
