Elon Musk expects SpaceX to launch Mars spaceship in 2019

"We did for you".

Elon Musk released a attractive new short video about launching the Tesla Roadster driven by "Starman", a dummy equipped with a spacesuit, in space on the Falcon Heavy, SpaceX's latest rocket.

"There are a lot of bad things happening all over the world, all of the time", Musk said. "How do you get people to talk again, how can you drive the conversation?"

The video was made by Jonathan "Jonah" Nolan, a British-American screenwriter best known for his work with his brother Christopher Nolan and as the creator of HBO's Westworld.

The video shows, with elegant editing, the Florida crowds lined up to witness the launch, the preparation of the three massive engines and the rocket's fiery ascent. The event was covered extensively at the time, but the trailer that Nolan cut together includes new footage that's being seen by the public for the first time. Side blocks rockets returned to Earth shortly after launch, and Central crashed while landing. It also includes numerous new shots of the prep for the launch, including Musk's infamous red Tesla Roadster being attached. And something that I haven't felt in an awfully long time. For starters, the Falcon Heavy is the most powerful operational rocket on the planet, with SpaceX noting that it has "more than 5 million pounds of thrust at liftoff, equal to approximately eighteen 747 aircraft at full power". "We tried to distill that essence down". "I find that incredibly exciting". He described the video as "a trailer", but "it's not a trailer for a movie". This is not a trailer for a TV show.

"We are building the first Mars, or interplanetary ship, and I think well [s.i.c.] be able to [do] short trips, flights by first half of next year", the SpaceX and Tesla founder said during a question-and-answer portion of an appearance at the South by Southwest festival, according to CNBC.
