Jim Bowen has passed away at the age of 80

Bullseye legend Jim Bowen has died aged 80 - so here's all you need to know about the 90s TV icon.

He also scored a number of acting roles, appearing in "Jonathan Creek", "Phoenix Nights", "Muck And Brass", "Last Of The Summer Wine" and "The Wheeltappers And Shunters Social Club", as well as appearing on the ITV sketch show "You Must be Joking".

He presented the show from 1981 to 1995, before turning his hand to radio where he ran a live morning show on BBC Radio Lancashire from 1999 to 2003.

In the 1960s he switched careers and took up stand-up comedy under the stage name Jim Bowen and soon ended up performing on television.

The pair had two children, Susan and Peter and were married for 59 years at the time of his death. He suffered from a third stroke in November 2014, which left him struggling to walk and talk.

Family friend John Pleus told PA: "He passed away very peacefully, she was with him".
