Air Canada's computer systems back online following outage

Air Canada has been hit by a system wide glitch that is reportedly affecting the check-in process at airports across Canada

The airline experienced problems with its computerized systems this morning, meaning passengers were not able to check in or drop off their luggage.

According to reports from multiple airports, including Toronto and Calgary, Air Canada is now experiencing a network outage nationwide with its computer system across the country.

Due to a malfunction with Air Canada's system, passengers are unable to check in and drop off baggage.

Those at the Regina Airport who are either leaving or flying out on an Air Canada flight may want to check on the status of their flight.

One traveller told our sister station 680 NEWS flights could not depart since crews could not access the weight of the plane.

It appears the problem didn't only affect Air Canada flights in this country. "We apologize for any inconvenience ..."

The airline tweeted that it was "experiencing an interruption" at its contact centres and website and is working to restore service as soon as possible.

The Air Canada AC8060 departure at 10 a.m. was cancelled and the airport is reporting that others may be facing delays.
