The Utah-born 19 year-old laid down three tidy runs in the final - with her third shot at the mammoth course the best - to finish on the podium behind the Swiss duo of Sarah Hoefflin and Mathilde Gremaud with Hoefflin scoring 91.20 on her final run.

Hoefflin scored 83.80 points in her first run before crashing in her second. Her compatriot Mathilde Gremaud was 3.20 behind for silver, while Britain's Isabel Atkin settled for bronze.

"The overall riding by all the females, I can't even begin to tell you ... the progression of women's freeskiing has been pushed so hard these past few years and just to be a part of it is an honor".

Devin Logan, who won silver at the Olympic debut of slopestyle in Sochi in 2014, finished 10th after struggling to land her big 720 off the second jump in her first two finals runs and then falling in the rail section on her third run.
