Jimmy Kimmel gets emotional about Florida school shooting

President Donald Trump center accompanied by and first lady Melania Trump right and Dr. Igor Nichiporenko left speak to reporters while visiting with medical staff at Broward Health North in Pompano Beach Fla. Friday Feb. 16 2018 following Wedn

"This needs to be a turning point". "You haven't heard students speak up one after another after another after witnessing such carnage and speaking out with such conviction".

The school shooting is sadly becoming an all too familiar scene in America, and this most recent one in Florida is reigniting the debate over gun control. It calls it a precursor for midterm elections in 2018, which it hopes will turn the tide in gun politics.

Trump's visit to the Parkland area - not far from his Mar-a-Lago resort, where he was spending the long President's Day weekend - was not announced in advance, perhaps because he risked being greeted with angry demands for action on laws that allowed Cruz to amass an arsenal. "We need action, action, action!"

The president was flanked by First Lady Melania Trump, Senator Marco Rubio, Florida Governor Rick Scott and Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi. "I would have said without me, they never would have found him", Trump told Leonard. "Let's protect Barron. And let's also protect all these other kids".

"We need every mom and every dad and every kid" in all the cities to come with us.

"Great. Okay. What we need and what you can do to ease our pain and to prevent future pain is something". One of your very first acts as president, Mr. Trump, was to actually roll back the regulations that were created to keep firearms out of the hands of the mentally ill.

Trump tweeted that he will be meeting with people "whose lives have been totally shattered", but did not elaborate as to his plans. Instead, he has mentioned "the hard issue of mental health" and tweeted that he was working with Congress, although not on what that work entailed.

Wednesday's deadly attack at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School was the deadliest school shooting since the shooting at an elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut, five years ago.

When the gunshots rang out at her Florida high school, Lorena Sanabria hid in a classroom with friends, forced to listen to the blood-curdling screams of victims as they waited for help and prayed they wouldn't be next.

Meadow Pollack's funeral was held shortly after Alyssa Alhadeff's also at the Star of David Memorial Gardens Chapel. He killed 17 people and injured 15 others. Addressing President Trump directly, he added, "Do something".

Eighteen-year-old Meadow was a senior planning to attend Lynn University in Boca Raton.

An emotional Jimmy Kimmel unleashed a savage denunciation of Donald Trump's inaction on guns after playing the president's statement on the Parkland shooting, which did not mention guns once.

"You had had people with murder in their heart and that's all there is to it", said Kennedy. "Let's take care of them because they will go through a lot", said First Lady Melania.

That statistic has been spread around by Everytown for Gun Safety, an advocacy group that pushes for more gun legislation.
