Trump Publicly Wavering on Mueller Interview

White House

President Donald Trump says that it "seems unlikely" that he'd give an interview in Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into potential coordination between Russian Federation and the Trump campaign.

President Donald Trump said during a joint press conference with the Norwegian prime minister on Wednesday that he would "see what happens" if he were asked to interview with special counsel Robert Mueller.

Special counsel Robert Mueller's team of investigators probing the 2016 us presidential race has grown to include Ryan Dickey, a federal prosecutor responsible for investigating several high-profile cybercrime cases.

Then-FBI Director Comey revealed the existence of the investigation during a House hearing last March, and after Comey's firing, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein appointed Mueller to lead a special counsel investigation.

The President has told friends he's willing to talk with Mueller - the man Trump views as leading a "witch hunt" against him - to make the case there was no wrongdoing, sources told CNN. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., for releasing a transcript that was highly critical of Trump, and he demanded that Republicans "finally take control" of the probes.

Mueller's team told the White House last month that they are likely to request an interview with the president, the Washington Post has reported.

Like Bigfoot and UFOs, the Russian Federation narrative is alive and well in the national media, despite a continuing lack of evidence of "collusion" between Moscow and the Trump campaign.

Schiff said Thursday that the committee has interviewed 56 witnesses - half the number of people that have appeared before the Senate Intelligence Committee, Schiff said, meaning there are "dozens" of witnesses they have yet to bring in. Certainly, I'll see what happens.

Mueller's appointment enjoyed bipartisan support, although as the probe has continued, more Trump allies have joined the President in trying to discredit it. "'We are going to take a strong look at our country's libel laws, so that when somebody says something that is false and defamatory about someone, that person will have meaningful recourse in our courts, ' Mr. Trump said during a public portion of a cabinet meeting in the White House". Norway drew a rebuke from Russia a year ago after it welcomed several hundred US Marines onto a base about 900 miles from the Russian border.

Trump and Norwegian prime minister Erna Solberg answered several questions about economics, energy sources and their North Atlantic Treaty Organisation alliance as well as direct questions about the USA investigation into Russian collusion.

"This may be the only time where the country would benefit from the national security point of view if the president of the United States were watching cartoons in the morning instead of something else", he said.

And what was Trump asked about?

Facing a rightwing backlash over his apparent willingness to accept a path to citizenship for Dreamers, Trump denied if he might sign an immigration deal that does not include funding for a border wall. Trump added the issue had featured little in their discussions but he might be willing to reconsider the USA decision to walk away if it can strike a better deal. "I hope we do", Trump said.
