Trump denies 'racist slur' that provoked outrage

The government of Botswana asked the USA government to clarify if Botswana was regarded as a "shithole country" and called his comments "irresponsible, reprehensible and racist".

Trump spent Thursday evening making a flurry of calls to friends and outside advisers to judge their reaction to the tempest, said the confidant, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn't authorized to disclose a private conversation.

Trump's contemptuous description of an entire continent startled lawmakers in the meeting and immediately revived charges that the president is racist.

Altidor said Foreign Affairs Minister Antonio Rodrigue told him that the USA chargé d'affaires in Haiti, Robin Diallo, had been summoned to explain the reported slur. "That's what he does well ...", Haitian-born Gourgue said.

To get the deal he wants, Mr Trump needed to have Democrats to agree to fund his border wall in return for solving the decades-old problem of what to do with undocumented migrants who came to the United States as children.

If a day is a long time in politics - it's an age when it concerns the 45th President. "We even made the ultimate sacrifice when we shed our blood in Savannah".

President Donald Trump on Thursday questioned why the USA would accept more immigrants from "shithole countries" after senators discussed revamping rules affecting those from Africa and Haiti, according to people briefed on the conversation.

Trump fired off a series of tweets to push back, saying he was only using "tough language" - although he didn't directly using the phrase "s***hole countries". "He said, 'That's a good line, ' dismissing it", Durbin said.

Cardinal Seán O'Malley wrote in a blog post on Friday that he has ministered to "people from many lands who came to the United States to share their lives, their culture and their faith with American society", an experience he said has been "filled with a spirit which is so different from the tenor and language of much of the debate about immigration in our country today".

Announcing his candidacy for president at Trump Tower in June 2015, Trump made derogatory statements about immigrants from Mexico. We're never going to know what he said?

Trump has repeatedly raised questions about the loyalty of Muslim immigrants to the United States claiming, falsely, that Muslims in New Jersey celebrated publicly after the Sep 11, 2001 attacks on NY and Washington.

"Certain Washington politicians choose to fight for foreign countries, but President Trump will always fight for the American people", he said. "Mr. President", Accilien said, "do you realize that the USA has a lot to do with the current state of affairs in that "shithole" country?" Trump made it very clear that he believed that they're "shitholes" because they are countries that are populated by people of color, and they are not as economically developed as countries like Norway, which are primarily white, first world nations.

Sen. Durbin on Trump comments.

Mayor Jim Kenney denounced the president's sentiments, in a statement, as racist. Initial bargaining has also occurred among a separate group of four leaders - the second-ranking Republican and Democrat from both the House and Senate, a group to which both Cornyn and Durbin belong.

Both nations have been praised by the United States government as stable democracies in the region. The news cycle moves so very quickly these days, it's hard to maintain an appropriate level of outrage over the disaster in the White House.
