This is the cognitive test the president passed

"There's no indication whatsoever that he has any cognitive issues", Jackson said.

"He has incredible genes, I just assume", the doctor said.

The 71-year-old president performed "exceedingly well" on cognitive screening, which is not a standard exam for the checkup but which was requested by Trump.

Although Tuesday's news conference focused on Trump's physical and mental fitness, Jackson's time as White House physician carries over from previous administrations.

Jackson told reporters Trump scored 30/30 on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, which according to its website is a "cognitive screening test created to assist Health Professionals in the detection of mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's disease". Jackson says Trump's heart exam was normal, with regular rhythm and no abnormal sounds.

Asked about a much-discussed episode in which the president seemed to slur his words during a televised speech in December about the Middle East, Jackson said it might had been caused by Sudafed, a medicine for nasal congestion.

Dr. Jackson said at Tuesday's briefing that after conducting last week's physical, he and the president set a goal of losing 10-15 pounds. "I don't know", Jackson said. 'Folks, we're gonna build a roach motel.

"The doctor says President Trump is 6'3" and weighs 239 pounds, which puts his body mass index in the "overweight range".

A score of 26 points or above out of a possible 30 is considered normal. Trump's own driver's license has put him at 6-foot-2.

Mr Trump takes Crestor for his cholesterol, a low-dose aspirin for heart attack prevention, Propecia to treat male-pattern baldness and antibiotics for rosacea.

Trump's doctor spoke yesterday as he broke the silence on President's health his diet.

After fully examining Trump, Jackson concluded that the president is "in excellent health."

The cognitive test on which U.S. President Donald Trump received a ideal score is considered a good screening tool for mental decline in an otherwise healthy person, medical experts said.

With such a bad dietary history, how can that be?

Donald Trump has aced a test on his mental health - likely putting to rest days of Washington political gossip.

"If we get diet and exercise right, then weight loss will come", Jackson said.

"You guys remember how during the presidential campaign Donald Trump's personal doctor-and secondhand speed-boat salesman-declared that Trump would be the healthiest individual every elected president?"

The Navy doctor exhausted reporters' questions during an unusually lengthy hour-long session, at Trump's request, and said he did not withhold any information in the interests of privacy.

So Jackson gave him the Montreal Cognitive Assessment.

"In summary, the president's overall health is excellent", Dr. Ronny Jackson told reporters.
