Sports reporter who went missing in Texas explains her disappearance

After her vehicle was discovered, many feared something had happened but it turns out Roland suffered an adverse reaction to her prescribed medication.

Courtney Roland left the hospital Friday following five days of extensive testing.

Roland was found January 8 at a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Houston after being reported missing a day earlier.

Report speaks out: Courtney Roland, 29, a Texas sports reporter, was found under an overpass a week ago.

Roland appears to be in good spirits, and says she is looking forward to getting back to work at Rivals.com, where she covers Texas A&M football.

Thank you all for your prayers!

On Monday, Roland tweeted a statement that reiterated that prescription medication was to blame.

The following Monday, she was spotted at a Texas Chick-Fil-A by someone who recognized her and called the police, ABC's Courtney Fischer tweeted.

Houston Police later found Roland underneath an overpass.

Houston police say she was unharmed but she was taken to hospital in an ambulance for observation. She thanked everyone for all of their prayers. "I wish I could thank each of you in person".

It is not yet clear why Roland disappeared or where she has been during that time.

Concern about her safety grew after she covered a football camp in the Houston area on November 6. She also sent freakish text messages to her mother, police said.

Throughout social media, Roland's peers and colleagues posted about the reporter's disappearance.

"She wasn't aware that she had been reported as missing and her state of confusion caused her to lose track of time, police said", reported CBS. Your friends love you.
