Rebekah Shelton is NOT dead

Rebekah Shelton

A tweet from her official Twitter account on Thursday said the former reality TV star had "died unexpectedly" at the age of 32.

Taking to Twitter she deleted the previous tweet in which her death was announced and replaced it with "I'm not dead!".

She told fans: "I just want to kindly ask, please stop spreading this news that I'm dead because obviously I'm not".

THEGAYUK.com reached out for comment.

As a second added: "God, how very bad!"

Another replied to the message and said they would remember her as "one of the most lovable BB housemates".

"Big Brother" fans will best remember Brazil-born Rebekah - who took part in the show under her former name, Rodrigo Lopes - for her unabashed love of the Queen, as well as the United Kingdom in general, and brief romance with fellow housemate Charlie Drummond.

"No way I remember when she was on Big Brother before her transition and I and she was one of my favourite ever people to have ever entered the big brother house and I've watch her transformation during the years it's so sad rest in peace", posted one shocked fan.

Shelton began living as a woman in 2012, after successfully undergoing gender transition surgery in 2012. "At one point before my surgery I had to leave home, and for six months of my life I turned to prostitution".

Hundreds of grieving fans have all rallied round to show their support for the family of the Big Brother 'icon' and posted heartfelt tributes on social media.

"I saw that disgusting thing between my legs and I started crying around the hospital saying, 'I regret, I regret.' I wanted to kill myself because it was a nightmare".

The transgender reality star came to fame through Big Brother, and has spoken at length about her transition.

"It was a big step to go full time as a woman".

"Our thoughts are with her friends and family, from everyone here at Big Brother UK".
