PUBG has already sold three million copies on Xbox One

Tonight's PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds patch adds loot crates and a new report function

In December, just after PUBG Corp. launched version 1.0 of the title on PC, the developer announced that the game has surpassed 30 million players in total. When it was on PC it sold 20 million copies while it was only on Steam and in early access and right now it has sold 27,663,372 units according to Steamspy. Whether you're streaming in the HypeZone on Mixer or battling for a chicken dinner with your squad, players on Xbox are helping build and improve the game on console. Hats off to Brendan Greene and Bluehole for their masterpiece. This solution is one that updated just a few days ago with PUBG Corp saying that "combating cheaters is one of our highest priorities at the moment".

The same report noted that the developers seemed to have fixed what Xbox One players noticed earlier that getting cover behind vehicles can easily secure them compared to the more risky setup in PC. Many feel like the two games aren't even in the same genre.

The juggernaut that is PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds seems to be unstoppable. "We want to push out as many updates as we can, but it's very hard to do frequent updates when it comes to the console platform, so on this we're now consulting with the Xbox team on how to make this happen more quickly".

The game's Xbox One launch, however, didn't go without its hiccups.

In development for PC and Xbox One, using Unreal Engine 4, the standalone game will expand the core Battle Royale experience enjoyed by millions of players into a highly competitive player vs. player (PvP) game in a dynamic open world.

These new paid crates come with cosmetic items and there a limit of six crates per week with the cap being reset every Monday at 12AM UTC. However, developers admitted that it is still a work in progress.
