Monaco boss Jardim tempts Liverpool into huge Lemar bid

Arsenal have moved Thomas Lemar back to the top of their wanted list and are prepared to test Monaco's resolve not to sell their star forward in January, says the Mirror.

According to the Daily Mail, Premier League sides Arsenal and Liverpool are both reportedly interested in the French worldwide.

Speaking about Lemar, Jardim said it would be tough for the Ligue 1 champions to turn down a huge offer.

"Things happen that even a club like Monaco can not say no to".

The Frenchman will be even more furious if he is beaten to the punch by Liverpool this month, however, as Jurgen Klopp earmarks Lemar as the man to take Coutinho's place in his pacy attacking Reds side.

Lemar is a regular first-team member of both Monaco and France National Team, and it is natural that The Monegasques would be looking for a high figure to renounce his services. Everything can change. The things I can say today are not true tomorrow.

The Reds and Gunners have always been linked with Lemar after his stunning form last term piqued their interest, and both are plotting moves for the France global as replacements for Philippe Coutinho and Alexis Sanchez respectively. "Players like Keita (Balde), Jovetic, Tielemans are all players signed in the knowledge that Lemar will go at some point", Brassell told the Liverpool Echo. According to Sky Sports, the Gunners lodged a staggering £92 million offer at the end of the previous window in an attempt to sign the 22-year-old.

However, after losing Bernardo Silva, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Benjamin Mendy and Kylian Mbappe, among others, last summer, he is aware that his plans may count for little if the price is right. Monaco are not totally against the idea of an offer this month, but it would have to be a very big offer.
