Leonardo DiCaprio & Quentin Tarantino Reunite For 1969 Movie

Leonardo DiCaprio

Quentin Tarantino is diving into his rich stable of actors for his next movie.

The idea of Quentin Tarantino making a Pulp Fiction-esque period film set in Hollywood during the time of the Charles Manson murders is a odd one, and we still have next to no idea what the movie will actually be.

'If anyone tried to duplicate what [Quentin] does I think they would be sued for copyright infringement, ' DiCaprio - who almost played Hans Landa in Inglorious Basterds - told EW back in 2012.

Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise have also been rumoured to be attached to the project, which is apparently set to involve two main male roles. Business Insider contacted DiCaprio and Tarantino's representatives for confirmation but did not get an immediate response. According to Deadline, DiCaprio will play an aging actor in the story that is being kept under wraps but is a Pulp Fiction-esque movie set during the time of the Manson murder spree in Los Angeles.

Vanity Fair says that the movie follows a TV actor who wants to break into the film industry after he has a hit series, alongside his sidekick who is also his stunt double. Margot Robbie, meanwhile, is being eyed for the role of Sharon Tate. After all that, however, Tarantino signed with Sony. Leonardo DiCaprio has said yes to appearing in the film and this will be DiCaprio's first film since winning the Oscar for The Revenant. Additionally, Tarantino has reportedly also written a supporting role with Al Pacino in mind.

The film, whose working title is #9 (referencing Tarantino's ninth feature film as director), will be set in Los Angeles and will likely shoot in the summer of 2018. After this film, Tarantino next plans to helm an R-rated Star Trek movie, a fact we're all still having a hard time believing.
