Giving an example, Rawat said many Government schools in Kashmir have two maps including one of India and the other of the State of Jammu and Kashmir.

General Rawat, while addressing the media, said the schools in Jammu and Kashmir were teaching students with two maps - one of India and another of the state. He is a professional. If you are putting a map of Jammu and Kashmir, then you may as well put map of every state. "He is not an educationist to issue sermons on education", said Mr. Bukhari. He is a professional and there is no doubt about his professionalism.

"I don't think the society would accept sermons on education from non-educationists".

"[The] only thing stopping them is our credible nuclear deterrence as there is no space of war between the two nuclear states", he said. "Education is subject on State list and this is not on concurrent list and falls well within the domain of the State", the Minister for Education said.

The education minister further said, "Separatism would not be anywhere if the army does its job properly".

"Perhaps he (Army chief) knows it and I know it very well", he said. They have a responsibility.

"The job of education should be left to academicians alone and people giving sermons to the state should focus on their own job", the minister said adding, "Perhaps the people who are giving sermons on how we should run education sector are not doing their job properly and that's why we are suffering".

Earlier in the day, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor had also responded to the Indian army chief's "nuclear bluff" assertion by warning that India will be given a befitting response if they engage in any misadventure. "What does it teach the children?" he said. The Army chief also expressed concern over campaign against security forces and the country on the social media in the State.

Bukhari said that his department's priorities include plugging the loopholes, if any, in the education system and significant success has been achieved on that front. "We have our own education system and we will fix our own problems, if any".
