Judge unseals search warrants in mass shooting in Las Vegas

Paddock shows his brother Las Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock. On Sunday Oct. 1 2017 Stephen Paddock opened fire on the Route 91 Harvest festival killing dozens and wounding hundreds. Paddock left behind little

The FBI document, filed six days after the shooting, says authorities had no evidence suggesting Danley had any criminal involvement in the massacre.

The gunman who opened fire on concertgoers from 32nd floor of a Las Vegas hotel was found dead, apparently of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, when a police SWAT team burst in, authorities said Monday. They said at least eight weapons, including a number of long rifles, were found in the room from where 64-year-old Stephen Paddock rained automatic fire into thousands of terrified people attending a country music concert across the street.'We believe the individual killed himself prior to our entry, ' Las Vegas Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said. "Located in the las vegas area", reads one email.

"Investigators believe these communications may have been related to the eventual attack that occurred at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas", the court document read.

"We have a wide variety of optics and ammunition to try", another email sent the same day said. An FBI spokeswoman in Las Vegas declined to comment on the documents on Friday evening.

Officials are unsure if the exchange represents two accounts both belonging to Paddock, or if he was communicating with someone else leading up to the shooting.

Though Danley has not been charged, investigators note that "she has been identified thus far as the most likely person who aided or abetted Stephen Paddock based on her informing law enforcement that her fingerprints would likely be found on the ammunition used during the attack".

Danely offered this information as investigators were preparing to take a DNA swab from her, the records state. "Neither contained significant information that allowed investigators to determine the full scope of Stephen Paddock's planning and preparation for the attack", the documents said.

It is unclear what has transpired with respect to Danely since the affidavit was written on October 7.

Federal Bureau of Investigation agents reportedly knew that Paddock had left behind big caches of guns, ammunition and explosives when they sought warrants to search his properties and online accounts, according to the documents.

Danely's attorney did not respond to a call or text seeking comment on Friday evening. In one affidavit, the Federal Bureau of Investigation notes that Danley's Facebook account was set to private and then deleted in the hours after the shooting. She "corroborated much of what had been previously deduced by investigators", an agent wrote in one filing, and remained "adamant" she was unaware of Paddock's intentions.

CNN reported in October that Paddock testified in a deposition that he occasionally suffered from anxiousness, for which he was prescribed Valium.
