'Humiliated' Instagram star booted off AA flight

Jen Selter

Instagram fitness model Jen Selter was kicked off a passenger flight in Miami after she and her sister quarrelled with flight attendants. The flight attendant asked Selter if she wanted to sit down and she said "no", when asked if she wanted to get off the plane she said "yes". This is where a heated argument started and the pilot got involved.

Alongside snaps of her workouts, Selter is known for sharing bikini-clad photos of her rear, which has earned her the title "belfie queen" by some fans. During that time, Selter got up to get something from the overhead bin and the flight attendant told her to sit down.

In one of the videos the model posted to Twitter, a pilot can be seen approaching her and informing her that the crew would like her to get off the plane.

Another passenger can be heard speaking in Selter's defense, accusing the flight crew of "harassing her".

After what appeared to be a row over remaining seated, the crew member is heard telling the model about removing her from the flight.

"I did nothing wrong but got kicked off the plane", she wrote, adding she had the "worst experience" following a delay which left the aircraft stuck on the runway for two hours. "They don't want you to fly on their plane today".

"She flew on American Sunday morning back to New York (LGA) - arriving around 8:30 a.m. ET yesterday morning". Jen told the crew that she didn't do anything wrong, but another member of the crew standing nearby says that Jen was asked if she'd like to leave the flight and she responded with a yes.

"Ms. Selter was asked to leave the aircraft after a disagreement occurred last night at Miami International Airport (MIA)", they said.

The model did tell the Washington Post however, that she would "never ever fly American Airlines again".

American Airlines said it offered the social media personality hotel accommodation and transport, which she declined.

Jen has not addressed the incident on her Twitter since posting the videos, but did say in a statement to Page Six that the experience was "humiliating".
