Google Pay Launching as Google Consolidates Payment Options

When you begin using Google Pay, you will notice it is much easier to purchase items and pay for them. LG Pay was fist launched in South Korea in June of previous year. That said, the company will still be fighting an uphill battle considering that the mobile payments space is already a bit crowded with Apple Pay and the recently reformed Google Pay.

It has not been smooth sail for both Android Pay and Google Wallet in recent months-the competition from other digital payment providers has been tough.

The report may be accurate on the LG Wallet name. So far, there were no talks regarding the global availability of LG Pay, and here is the answer. Google Pay essentially aspires to bring all of Google's mobile payments - beginning with Android Pay and Google Wallet - efforts under one roof.

Google Pay is a new brand that combines the services Android Pay and Google Wallet.

Obviously, Google is hoping that GPay will be able to compete straight up with Apple Pay. Compare that with Samsung Pay, which is already offered on 12 devices in 14 countries, and Android Pay, which can be used with any NFC-enabled Android phone in 17 countries.

Google Pay, according to the Mountain View California-based tech giant is now available on Airbnb, Dice, Fandango, HungryHouse, Instacart, and other apps and websites.

Google Pay is still in its early stage of roll out, and things will gradually take shape in the coming days.

Last September Google launched a new payment app called Tez designed for the Indian market.

Built on the government-supported Unified Payments Interface (UPI), Tez allows users to make payments straight from their bank accounts. Not only does it have to compete with Samsung in South Korea, but its market penetration in the U.S. is meager compared to Samsung and Google.
