Donald Trump's physician says he's "very healthy" but could lose 10-15lbs

Michael Wolff talks to Sky News

The US president's former chief strategist, who quit in August, was subpoenaed to testify before a grand jury in the FBI-led inquiry into whether Mr Trump's 2016 election campaign was helped by Vladimir Putin's Russian regime. "Because to be honest with you, per all the guidelines that are out there, it's just not indicated at this time".

The House Intelligence Committee is investigating claims that Russian Federation meddled in the 2016 presidential election, which are also being investigated by special counsel Robert Mueller.

"The subpoena is a sign that Mr. Bannon is not personally the focus of the investigation". Mueller is likely to allow Bannon to forgo the grand jury appearance if he agrees to instead be questioned by investigators in the less formal setting of the special counsel's offices in Washington, according to the person, who would not be named discussing the case.

Bannon testified before the House Intelligence Committee on Tuesday.

Representative Adam Schiff of California, the top Democrat on the committee, said the White House had instructed Bannon to not answer many questions on the grounds that it wanted him to preserve the president's option to assert executive privilege later on.

Bannon is expected to be more forthcoming with Mueller's team.

Burck also represents White House counsel Don McGahn and former chief of staff Reince Priebus.

A book published earlier this month, "Fire and Fury" by Michael Wolff, asserted that even Trump's own advisers and associates questioned his fitness for office.

President Donald Trump is perfectly healthy and fit to lead the country, showing no cognitive or mental issues, although he could stand to lose a few pounds, the White House doctor said Tuesday. The White House has denied that Trump met with any of the Russian participants at that meeting inside Trump Tower in June 2016.

In another new book by two former aides called Let Trump Be Trump, Trump is described ordering "two Big Macs, two Fillet-O-Fish, and a chocolate malted" for one meal from McDonald's.

Lawmakers had been questioning Bannon for roughly 90 minutes when questions began on the transition, several sources said. Six days later, Bannon stepped down as executive chairman at Breitbart.

News of the subpoena comes on the same day that Bannon appeared on Capitol Hill on Tuesday to provide testimony before the House Intelligence Committee in its probe into Russian meddling.
