Detective Pikachu Is On The Case On Nintendo 3DS This March

Not only is Detective Pikachu finally coming stateside - along with a big ol' amiibo of the Pokémon - but a New Nintendo 2DS XL emblazoned with Pikachu's charming face will soon hit store shelves.

The move marks another step in the recent resurgence of Pokemon that began with Pokemon Go's release in 2016. This amiibo features a sleuthing Pikachu that's larger than the standard amiibo, and when used with your game, it can unlock short videos that may contain helpful hints for your investigation.

It's nearly twice as tall as a regular Pikachu amiibo! Perhaps it's no surprise the game which inspired the film is finally being released in the West. Players talk to witnesses, obtain clues and work with other Pokémon to crack the case. Also, Nintendo is releasing an absolutely very big amiibo alongside the game.

On his way, Tim meets the witty and sly Pikachu, who claims to have worked for Harry and is also looking for him. He isn't doing it alone, of course, with the gritty, coffee-addicted Detective Pikachu at his side.

Either way, the Detective Pikachu game will be releasing on the Nintendo 3DS on March 18 of this year, so be on the lookout if it seems like a game you'd like to pick up.

Check out the Detective Pikachu trailer below. While the man who voices Pikachu in the trailer (and presumably the game) is clearly not DeVito, he still nails the role. Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below. Sadly, Ryan Reynolds does not appear to be voicing Pikachu.
