Chelsea youngster in Glasgow to complete Celtic move

Celtic are close to finalising an 18-month loan deal to bring Charly Musonda to Glasgow

Musonda joined Chelsea in 2012 from Anderlecht along with his older brothers Tika and Lamisha, signing a contract extension in March 2015.

Chelsea forward Charly Musonda has the choice of a number of clubs during the January window, with Brendan Rodgers' Celtic among those pushing hard to secure his services on an 18-month loan deal.

The 21-year-old has confirmed that his long-term commitment remains with the Premier League side.

Previously he had an impressive loan stint in Spain with Real Betis.

The same publication has now tweeted that Musonda has landed in Glasgow to complete his move.

The Hoops have been busy in the market this month, with the Scottish champions wrapping up deals for Marvin Compper and Lewis Morgan to bolster the first-team squad.

The Northern Irish boss has been keen on the Belgian playmaker for a while now and is generally successful at developing young players.

There was further good news too for Celtic with Patrick Roberts set to give the Parkhead side a boost. The English winger has improved his game under Rodgers whilst pushing Celtic to a higher level.

Musonda is in pursuit of first team football after struggling for game time under the management of Antonio Conte.

"He's a terrific talent, so we'll see".

The Belgian Under-21 global is set to become Rodgers' third capture of the transfer window after Marvin Compper and Lewis Morgan.
